Senior Emma Garcia Awarded Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship

Congratulations to senior Emma Garcia who was recently awarded the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship to attend Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholars are selected on the basis of academic achievement, intellectual promise and leadership and contribution outside the classroom.

Only one percent of all Vanderbilt applicants are awarded this academic merit scholarship. Emma will receive full tuition for four years at Vanderbilt, plus a one-time stipend to be used towards a summer study abroad or research experience. Emma first visited the Vanderbilt campus on Davidson Day's 11th grade class trip. It was then she decided she wanted to apply. She was accepted to Vanderbilt's Peabody College of Education and Human Development and will begin classes in the fall. Vanderbilt is ranked as one of the top universities for its undergraduate teaching, research opportunities and post-graduate employment placements. Congrats, Emma! We are incredibly proud!
