Davidson Day’s Early Childhood program—the only independent school in Lake Norman to offer a developmentally-appropriate, integrated curriculum for children as young as two years old—teaches skills and content in context to help young learners understand the world around them and their role in it.

Our teachers possess decades of experience in fostering meaningful connections with young students, cultivating curiosity through immersive play and safe exploration, manipulation, and discovery.

In addition to academic work, our Early Childhood program focuses on all aspects of child development: cognitive skills, language development, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, executive functioning, and social-emotional wellness.

Because children thrive in this secure, supportive environment, our Early Preschool (2s and 3s), Preschool (3s and 4s), and Junior Kindergarten (4s and 5s) students prepare for Kindergarten—and beyond.
