University Christian High School

The Patriots notched their first win of the season against University Christian, 1-0.  The boys did a great job adapting to a new formation with no practices and one chalkboard session.  While there is still much work to be done, there was a large chunk where the team executed it flawlessly and had UC playing chase the ball.  Caleb Tate and Mark Breunig had another outstanding performance in the back.  Daxton Nell had the best game of his young career.  Whit Johnson did a great job of playing the new position, wingback.  All the boys that played in the midfield were effective and tireless owning the middle of the field.  It was a thrilling game until 8 minutes to go when Cole Hansen played a great through ball to Carter Laatsch who blistered it to the far post.  

 

Man of the Match-  Throughout the game there were two that stood out in particular.  Lance Fenderson and McCarthy Strachan.  They ran like sled dogs- through cramps, tough tackles, and injuries.  It was their effort that opened things up for others and provided the scoring opportunities
