What a game yesterday! These young men showed great grit and endurance during the game. The game really showed how far the boys have come in just a short period of time. The dedication, desire, and discipline really shined yesterday during the game.
Offensively there was dominance shown by our offensive line. DeAundre Stewart, Charlie Caputo, Evan Dennis, Gage Fragale, Ian Hoffman, Benny Goldstein, and Justin Dennis really paved the way for our offense. Our wide receivers Oliver, Jack, Miles, Jake, and Greg were dominating the defensive backs as well. Ewan McAloon scored four rushing touchdowns and also had one receiving. Jake Neville scored two rushing touchdowns and also threw for a touchdown. Tyler Letarte scored one rushing touchdown. Todd Pelino was five of six on extra point attempts yesterday and did an excellent job with his kickoff duties as well.
Defensively we did struggle to tackle at times, but overall it was a pretty good performance. Tyler Wettengel created havoc a couple of times in the backfield from his defensive tackle position. Greg Hoffman had an interception that he almost ran back for a touchdown. DeAundre Stewart and Benny Goldstein did not allow much running room up the middle for the spartans. I thought defensively we were more physical at times but other times it seemed we were out of gas.
Overall yesterday was an exciting day for these young men. Most of them started practice way back on July 31st and the hard work finally paid off yesterday. The game really showed the progress we made as a team this fall. We look forward to building this program with these great young men.
