Patriot Teams

At the middle school level, our students are able to pursue their passion for sport and perhaps discover a new love for competition, all while having the opportunity to represent their school and wear the Patriot uniform. At this level, participation, learning new sports, and working with coaches are important dynamics.

Junior varsity teams are offered when participation allows. Typically, junior varsity teams are only available to ninth and tenth graders, but at independent schools and Davidson Day, seventh and eighth graders may also be considered for play on these teams.

Davidson Day varsity teams are designed to be competitive and to compete for and win conference and state championships. Sportsmanship, leadership, commitment, and excellence are all expectations of our varsity student-athletes. Our teams compete locally, regionally, and sometimes nationally.

Davidson Day competes on the junior varsity and varsity levels as a part of the 3A classification in the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA) and is a member of the Foothills Athletic Conference (FAC) for most varsity and middle school sports.
