Despite a solid scoreless 20 minutes to begin the game, The Patriots let down mentally after Wesleyan's first goal. After collecting themselves at halftime and starting over, the Patriots came out with energy and held their own against a nationally ranked team. This is where the legend of John Woods Begins. John came into the 2nd half and showed hustle as he continued to track down any ball his way. After a quick break away and good combo passes between Simon Sossoman and Burke Robertson, John won a hard 50/50 tackle and drilled an epic shot in the upper corner. For the first time in DDS history, the Patriots had scored a goal against Wesleyan. Although it was a loss, the Patriots proved that with the right mindset they can score agains even the toughest opponents. They are ready to go toe to toe on Monday vs Christ the King as they know that with effort and teamwork they can compete with any team.
