Impact Story: Professional Development
Our teachers are the secret to our students' success. They model lifelong learning by continually seeking to improve their skills and discover new ways to enhance their pupils' growth. Through your investment in the Enrichment Fund, our faculty can experience life-changing professional development and collaborate with their peers to truly make an impact.
In the summer, four representatives from Davidson Day attended the Institute for Social and Emotional Learning (IFSEL).These employees learned how to implement social and emotional learning in our community through presentations, hands-on activities, and conversations with teachers from other schools.
These skills and concepts have the flexibility to be used in morning meetings, classroom discussions, and advisory periods. The professional development with IFSEL created a partnership that will assist not only our students but also our faculty with becoming more self-aware through self-management, social and cultural awareness, relationship skills, decision making, and compassionate action.
