Nice Solid Road win vs. a Varsity Opponent

Chris Graham
JV boys got the week started off with a solid road win vs. Cabarrus Charter Huskies. Even though we did not practice on Sunday, and we had (2) of our starters battling minor injuries, they team pulled together and produced a solid effort. As a team, we have a goal to not let our our opponent score more than 12 pts per quarter. Last night, our JV boys worked hard and held the Huskies to 10,6,8, & 12 respectively.

This was huge step forward from the last time we laced them up against Phoenix Montisori. Guys were agressive, active, looking for each other & tough minded as they played a team with good size, good team speed, and good individual quickness on the perimeter. It was a good test for our young players. Our team certainly benefits from practicing against our varisty team here at the school, as you could see our guys were not intimated the least bit. Patriots get the win, 67-36.

Another great night of balanced scoring, 9 of 10 players found their way into the scoring column again. Last night, we had (3) players in double figures, Calloway led all scorers with 19, Alessi pitched in 12 and Clancy had 11. Howard, who was coming back from an ankle sprain, chipped in (9). This team continues to play with a ton of confidence on the offensive end of the court. They do a good job of sharing the ball in our equal oppurtinity offense.

Defensively, we are still very much a work in progress. But we are trending in the right direction. The Patriots next game is at home this Thursday January the 10th @ 7:00pm as they face off against Corvian Cardinals.
