Cross town rival goes down

Chris Graham
JV boys basketball team took on a pretty gritty opponnent last night as they faced off against the "Pride" of Pine Lake. It was clear from the jump that PLP was bent on imposing their will against our young Patriots. The Pride came out crashing the boards and showed a physical toughness that we really hadn't experienced all year.

But the Patriots didnt back down. Early foul trouble forced the Patriots to go deep into the bench much sooner than we normally do. However, our reserve players where more than up for the task. The Patriots batlle and scrapped clsoing out the first half with a 4 point lead. DD came out focused and determined to shore up the execution on the defensive end of the court and were able to stretch the lead to double digits closing out the third qouarter with a 12pt advantage. The Patriots then double up the Pride, winning the 4th quarter 13 -7, sealing the hard, faught, fight with a 61 -43 victory. Without question, this was the toughest test of the season thus far for DD.

For the second time this year DD had 4 players in double figures. The Patriots were led by Clancy with 17, followed by 3 palyers with 11 a piece
(Calloway, Horton, & Dicks). The next time the Patriots take the court will be next week, when they hit the road on Monday December 10th vs. Corvian Community School.
