Statement of Belonging
Davidson Day School is committed to maintaining a welcoming, supportive learning environment that values belonging. We respect individual differences in ethnicity, gender, national origin, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, ability, and socioeconomic status.
Collaborative, inclusive, and diverse communities are essential to helping students appreciate differences, become ethical citizens, and develop as leaders for positive change.
Creating a Community of Belonging
On this episode of the Davidson Day Community Podcast, Head of School Andrew Bishop sits down with the Upper School Belonging Council leadership and faculty sponsor Steve McGill to discuss what belonging means to them and how the Belonging Council makes a difference at Davidson Day.
Belonging Committee
Davidson Day’s Belonging Committee consists of school administrators, faculty and staff that meet monthly to implement belonging initiatives, develop plans of action to address the school’s goals found within the strategic plan, and work to cultivate belonging within the school community. The group has organized a variety of professional development opportunities for faculty and staff to support students each year, guided the development of the school’s Statement of Belonging, and is committed to continuing to ensure students feel a sense of belonging within the school.
