Davidson Day Robotics Team Makes It to State Championship

Dwight Jessup, Robotics Faculty
Congratulations to TeamSPORK, Davidson Day and Pine Lake Prep's collaborative robotics team, for making the FIRST Robotics State Championship this weekend!
At the first competition at UNC Asheville, TeamSPORK placed 11 out of 29 teams and became the team captain for the 7th-seeded Alliance for the playoffs. At the second competition at the Charlotte Convention Center, TeamSPORK placed 6 out of 27 teams and became the team captain for the 4th-seeded Alliance for the playoffs. The success at both competitions allowed Team SPORK to place 29th in the state and qualify for the State Championship this weekend in Asheville, NC. The team continues to work hard to improve the robot so that it can compete at a higher level.

As they approach the State Championship this weekend, please congratulate Davidson Day students Owen Saunders (2nd-year member - mechanical team), Cole Lambeth (2nd-year member - CAD, CNC, and primary robot driver), Abby Stutts (1st-year member - mechanical team and pit team), and Holt Ellison (1st-year member - CNC team).
