We leverage technology to keep parents in the loop, giving them the power to check grades and assignments, email teachers and receive weekly electronic newsletters, all on demand, online.
At Davidson Day School, we teach students to use technology as a productive tool that will serve them well in school and in life. However, our philosophy is that technology is not only about consuming media on a device. Rather, we use technology to support all aspects of our curriculum in which we enable students to create technology, understand how it works and use appropriate tools to support their classwork. This may include using traditional laptops and cloud-based software to create videos, podcasts and Web sites or it may include hands-on activities whereby students implement design-thinking strategies to create inventions, learn introductory computer programming, or use our 3-D printer. Our emphasis is on how to leverage technology to solve problems.
