COVID-19 Updates

Current Status as of March 25, 2020

In order to support public health in the current time of COVID-19, our campus is now closed and is expected to re-open on Thursday, April 30.
All Davidson Day classes shifted to virtual teaching and learning as of Monday, March 16, and the process has been going smoothly!

Our Admissions Office is equally ready to connect to prospective families, virtually. Click HERE for ways to connect. We are here for you.
Davidson Day deeply values the health, wellness, and safety of our students, families, faculty, and staff. As details about Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) continue to unfold, we continue to monitor updates from the World Health Organization (WHO)U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, as well as work closely with the North Carolina Association of Independent Schools (NCAIS) regarding best practices for preparedness and response plans. We encourage families to continue to monitor the CDC website for the most up-to-date information on this evolving situation.
This page will be updated regularly with information about School operations; please visit this page frequently.

Preventing Illness

Public health officials recommend the following steps people should take to reduce their risk of getting and spreading any viral respiratory infections:
  • Handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (or using alcohol-based sanitizer if soap and water are not available).
  • Avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Covering nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze then throwing the tissue in the trash immediately, followed by handwashing.
  • Avoiding sharing anything that has come in contact with saliva (such as cups or utensils), whether in your living or social environments.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.
  • Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
  • If you become sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to prevent spread.
  • If you are sick with any type of flu-like illness (fever of 100 degrees or higher, chills, body aches, vomiting, etc.), stay home and away from others for at least 24 hours after the fever subsides (except to get medical care).
