Davidson Day School’s Admission Office is happy to be working with your family as you go through the admission process for your child(ren). We will provide you with information about schedules, guidelines and important deadlines. The first step begins with the completion of the Application forms. Completed applications, the application fee of $100, and all required forms and records must be received in our Admission Office by our priority screening deadline of February 1 in order to be eligible for consideration in our first round of decisions. Applications received after February 1 will be considered on a rolling admission basis and are pending space availability. To ensure your application for admission is complete, please make sure to give Teacher Recommendation Form(s) and Transcript Request Forms to your child’s current teacher, guidance office, principal or Headmaster as soon as possible. Be sure to make it clear to your child's current school that you need this information sent directly to Davidson Day School’s Admission Office. Please be sure to follow up with the Admission Office to make sure all required documents have been received in a timely manner. Admission Testing is also required. Early Childhood applicants through age three will be scheduled for a brief classroom observation session which may be scheduled through the Admission Office. The classroom observation session is a required part of the application process for our Early Childhood programs. There is an additional fee for this session. Our rising Transitional Kindergarten through 4th Grade students will take their test at Davidson Day School. These tests include the Woodcock Johnson Aptitude or Achievement tests. As these are individually administered tests, please be sure to schedule your child's testing date with the Admission Office as early as possible. Applications are not complete without testing results. There is an additional fee for testing. All rising 5th through 12th Grade students take the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam). Because most regional independent schools are using this test requirement in their application process, your child will be able to sit for the test at a number of locations from October through April. Testing is proctored on Saturdays and takes several hours. Test results will then be sent to the school or schools you are applying to. Information about the ISEE and registration for the test can be found at www.erbtest.org ISEE testing will be offered at Davidson Day School several times during the school year. For consideration in our first round of decisions, students should take the test before our February 1st priority screening deadline. There is an additional fee for the ISEE test. If you are applying for Financial Aid, please contact the Admission Office for information about online applications. It is the sole discretion of Davidson Day School to determine financial aid awards, if any, to a family. All financial aid inquiries are confidential. Admission decisions at Davidson Day School are based solely on their fit for the program, not their application for financial aid. Financial Aid may be be awarded to students in grades 1 through 12 only. We encourage your child to also apply for one of our many Merit-based Scholarships. These scholarships are offered to rising 5th through 12th grade students who can demonstrate how Davidson Day School would benefit from their unique merits and talents. Headmaster Scholarships can range anywhere from $1000 up to 50 percent of tuition costs. Please contact our Admission Office for more information as application deadlines apply.
